We are opening LA SUITE, a closed community that only customers registered with our online shop may enter.
About the name
LA SUITE is French for what follows, or what comes after.
Our work ends when we have chosen a piece and handed it over.
For the garment, though, what comes after is far longer.
You put your arms through the sleeves, wear it somewhere, and slowly it settles into the shape of you.
That stretch of time must be far longer than the time we were part of.
Of what happens after the handover, we know nothing.
The business carries on well enough without knowing, but it had begun to seem a slightly lonely way to go about it.
So we have made a separate place for what follows.
What kind of place it is
Loving clothes, loving vintage.
That alone is enough to begin a conversation here.
Leave a piece you own here with a photograph and a few words, and someone who loves the same thing will see it and answer.
Admire each other's eye, and take something from a sensibility unlike your own.
That is what this place is for.
The piece you leave need not have come from us.
Wherever you found it is fine.
Our own rail is there too, as a way in.
Vintage is one of one, so you can point to a particular piece by name.
Pieces that have sold stay as well; we do not take them down.
Who may enter
Anyone who has registered an email address with our online shop may enter.
- Whether you have bought from us makes no difference.
- No membership fee, no registration fee.
- No app to install.
What we left out
There are no private messages.
We do not talk about prices or the market.
There are no numbers here of the follower-count sort.
We judged that none of it would be missed.
With it, what gets said would change.
Every post and every reply is read and written by the owner.
Which means a reply can take time; it does not mean it has gone unread.
