― Good to have you home, Alexis.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Last December, the French dealer Alexis (@alexisbars) went home to France, telling us it would ‘probably be my last pop-up in Japan’.
He left us with the words ‘I look forward to the day we can meet again’ — and we saw him off feeling much the same.

This October, he is coming back to Japan.
So, once again, we will be holding a two-day pop-up event together in Ebisu, Tokyo.

We have called it “Welcome Back”.
We did try to think of something cleverer, but the moment we see his face at the door, we know those will be the first words out of our mouths — so we simply let them be the name.

The rails will be shared half and half, between his garments and ours.

Alexis will be bringing an entirely new selection, gathered over the past several months.
At its heart is American clothing from the 1950s — above all, the relaxed, quietly elegant leisurewear of California. Gabardine jackets, rayon shirts, knitwear: pieces that have become genuinely hard to come by.
And, as befits a French dealer, he will also be choosing early French workwear and military pieces with our customers in mind.

From our side, the familiar military and workwear, alongside old European garments and some more recent regulars.
We will be bringing plenty of pieces whose shapes feel familiar, yet whose colour or construction makes you look twice.
We are rather curious ourselves to see how they will look hanging beside his 1950s pieces.

For this new pop-up, I will be bringing a completely new selection that I have spent the past several months sourcing.

The main focus will be on rare American clothing from the 1950s, with a particular interest in California and the elegant leisurewear of the period. Gabardine jackets, rayon shirts, fine knitwear and other unusual pieces, carefully selected for their proportions, details and strong silhouettes.

Many of these garments have become extremely difficult to find today. My intention is to present vintage clothing that feels refined and relevant to the way we want to dress now — pieces with beautiful cuts and distinctive details that can easily be incorporated into a modern wardrobe.

And of course, as a French dealer, I will also bring a selection of early French vintage especially for the customers of Vieux et Nouveau, including workwear and military pieces.

I’m very much looking forward to sharing this new selection with you in Tokyo.
