Estimated 1930s, French Military M35 motorcycle trousers.
A rare deadstock acquisition.
Worn by riders in the French Military motorcycle units, these trousers are constructed from a heavyweight cotton-linen canvas that resists wind penetration.
The weave appears denser than pure cotton canvas.
Being deadstock, the characteristic nep texture inherent to linen remains subtle for now, though it will develop with time and wear. This is a quality one cannot experience with pure cotton—a singular character that emerges only through years of use.
The M38 features an apron front, whereas the M35 does not. Some refer to this as the earlier and later variants.
The silhouette is distinctly military in its straight cut. Adjusters at the hem allow for tapering, creating a more refined profile when cinched.
As an overpant, the pockets are through-pockets.
Designed originally as an overpant, sizing runs generous—making this example in a comparatively smaller size quite rare. Suitable for a wide range of builds.
The condition is impeccable, being deadstock. Recommended for those seeking a pristine example.
If this is what you've been searching for, this may be the opportunity.
