Standard Burberrys coats typically feature either set-in or raglan sleeves—two-piece construction. When not sized precisely, the shoulders rise unnaturally, creating a silhouette reminiscent of shoulder padding. The single-piece sleeve, by contrast, is celebrated for its refined shoulder line.
With conventional two-piece raglan sleeves, seams appear at two points: upper sleeve and underarm. The one-piece sleeve, wrapping the arm in a single continuous panel, requires only one seam at the underarm. This subtle distinction yields a profound effect on silhouette. Fabric falls perpendicular to gravity, creating a more pronounced drop shoulder and a consequently more refined line.
Because it accommodates oversized wear with contemporary ease, these pieces are sought after by many.
One-piece sleeves remain exceptionally scarce—appearing in roughly one of every thousand coats, or approximately one percent of production.
This example is constructed in a cotton-polyester blend. While some seek pure cotton, the blend offers softness and considerable wearability, and we recommend it.
Pure cotton specimens develop characteristic surface marking with wear over time. For casual styling, this presents no issue. For more formal application, the cotton-polyester construction resists such marking, allowing the coat to remain visually restrained and refined—a practical consideration.
Burberrys coats predominantly appear in beige tones. This piece presents in ivory—nearly white. Its chromatic neutrality renders it versatile across most styling approaches.
The sizing runs generous, accommodating larger frames without compromise. The one-piece sleeve construction maintains its refined silhouette even when generously proportioned.
There is evident wear, though without damage affecting function. It remains entirely wearable.
