An exceptionally rare acquisition.

Issued to the airborne units of the Luftwaffe, the German air force.
The Luftwaffe was formally dissolved in 1946, but underwent reorganization around 1950, at which point this piece was produced and distributed.

Contemporaneous trousers in the same design were produced and issued as a coordinated set.

The defining characteristic of this piece is, undoubtedly, the distinctive camouflage pattern unique to the German military.

The camouflage pattern known colloquially as Splinter Camo is a four-color military camouflage developed by Germany in the late 1920s, first adopted by the Reichswehr in 1931, marking Germany's inaugural military camouflage pattern.

These patterns bear the formal designation Buntfarbenmuster, or splitter-pattern.
