[~90's] Vintage Barbour Waxed Cotton Smock Jacket "LONGSHOREMAN" 3 Crest

This is a 1995 "Long Shoreman" made by Barbour.

Barbour is an outdoor lifestyle brand from the UK, founded in 1894 by John Barbour in South Shields, northeastern England.

Many items are now available for use in town, but workwear originally started out as a highly durable oiled cloth for dock workers such as sailors and fishermen.

In 1908, his son, Malcolm Barbour, produced his first mail order catalog, and in 1917, sales from these catalogs accounted for 75% of the time, including domestic and international orders.

Malcolm's son, "Duncan Barbour", had a deep knowledge of motorcycle wear, so in 1936 he introduced a motorcycle suit.
These suits quickly became a popular choice, and were worn by British international teams from 1936 to 1977.

In 1939, Duncan Barbour was summoned to the war, and Malcolm Barbour and his wife took over the management and developed the "Ursula Suit," which will be standard equipment for the British submarine force.
Captain George Phillips, the U-type submarine captain, apparently worked hard to make the suit at the time.

Later in 1974, His Highness the Duke of Edinburgh awarded the Royal Warrant, which was proof that he had been the first royal family to be appointed.
In 1982, Queen Elizabeth was awarded a second Royal Warrant, and in 1987, Her Highness Prince of Wales received a third Royal Warrant.

Needless to say, the high quality of the Royal Warrants is arguably difficult to obtain.

Compared to the classic model, the "6oz" of the Bidale, it looks quite thick and tough.
